Mr. Myers is CEO at Morningside Asset Management and oversees the firms entire business including, operations, compliance, investments, business development and investor relations. Mr. Myers is CEO & Managing Partner at Pneuma Capital Group, a holding company and parent company to Morningside Asset Management. Prior to forming Pneuma Capital Group, Mr. Myers was a Partner and Shareholder at StoneRidge Investment Partners where he was Director, Business Development and Senior Investment Product Specialist. Mr. Myers brings more than 25 years of bulge bracket and mid-size organizational leadership and development to Morningside.
Gabriel Hayes serves as President and Chief Operating Officer Morningside Asset Management and brings over 25 years of inspired transformational leadership to his role. Gabriel is a proven operator within the investment industry with strong business acumen and an accomplished history of leading organizations of varied sizes, investment disciplines, and distribution strategies. Prior to Pneuma, Gabriel was a partner at closed-end private debt fund, Parkview Capital where he focused on restructure work-outs of underlying portfolio holdings. In addition to various entrepreneurial and corporate restructure engagements, Gabriel has held key leadership assignments/roles in which he served as Co-Head of J.P. Morgan’s Mid-Corp Business Group (legacy Banc One Investment Advisors), prior to which he served as Managing Director & National Institutional Sales Manager at Banc One Investment Advisors. The foundation of his operating philosophy is communication is key, team building is critical, simple is smart, and execution drives revenue. Gabriel received his B.S. in Finance from Louisiana Tech University and a Masters in Business Administration from Texas Southern University’s Jessie H. Jones School of Business.
Jawanza Hughes is the Chief Investment Officer and Small Cap Value co-portfolio manager at Morningside Asset Management. Prior to joining Morningside, he was a founding member of Channing Capital Management and a Portfolio Manager on the Mid, All and Large Cap Value products. He also was a member of the three-person team that launched Channing's Small Cap Value product. Jawanza was formerly with Profit Investment Management where he was a senior research analyst covering multiple industries. Prior to joining Profit Investment Management, he was a research analyst with Ariel Capital Management and covered the Health Care and Environmental Services sectors for its Small and Mid Cap Value products. His previous experience includes three years at J.P. Morgan & Co. as an investment banking financial analyst in the Financial Institutions Group primarily focused on the asset management industry. In addition, he was an investment banking financial analyst with Kidder, Peabody & Co. Jawanza earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Finance from Morehouse College (magna cum laude). He is also an Executive Board Member of the John Howard Association of Illinois.
Mr. Gaskin is the small cap value co-portfolio manager at Morningside. Prior to joining Morningside, he managed the small cap value portfolio for Gray & Company. Mr. Gaskin has served as a co-founder and co-portfolio manager of mid and large cap strategies at Keel Asset Management. Prior to Keel, he was an Equity Research Analyst at the Kenwood Group covering the healthcare, consumer discretionary and consumer staples sectors. Mr. Gaskin has over 14 years experience in the investment industry and received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of the West Indies (First Class Honors) and an MBA from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Mr. Gaskin is a Fulbright Scholar and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He has also successfully completed the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) examinations. Mr. Gaskin is a member of the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals.
Ms. Duda is a senior analyst with Morningside covering the Utilities and Financials sectors as a member of the small cap value portfolio management team. Prior to joining Morningside, Ms. Duda led manager research and due diligence for Gray & Company. Prior to joining Gray & Company in 2010, Ms. Duda led the effort in manager due diligence and portfolio management within the Manager of Managers division of United Investment Managers and had been engaged in equity research in multiple sectors and industries at Mesirow Financial, Profit Investment Management/The Kenwood Group, and Holland Capital Management. Ms. Duda has been working in the investment industry since 2000 and holds an MBA in Finance from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business from Shanghai International Studies University. She has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago and the CFA Institute.
